It's not unkind. Even if I didn't purposefully separate myself from others at home, many wouldn't approach me like that either.

My station alone leads to much deference, but here, my rank matters little.

I can relate to that much as well. I cannot imagine anyone having the gall to needle me back in Sanbreque.

No. I am glad for people to be comfortable around me. You must know how isolating a title can be.

I do. It was never a matter of closeness with me, but I have never felt comfortable with too much deference.
