That is true. We are still on this ship, which is heavily damaged, with no clear way to return to our homes.

My greater concern is that now, without interference, Nut & Bolt will likely locate us, and we cannot know if they will be hostile or cooperative.

Their hostility cannot be as life-threating as assimilation and digestion. It is not as if we stole their ship. Their ship stole us.
