They're medicine! But the ingredients don't taste very good normally, so they made them soft and sugary so that even children will eat them without complaining.

Ah. [ he smiles a little ] That is quite clever. I might have greatly appreciated such a thing as a child.

They're so tasty, it's tempting to just eat them as a snack! But most people would run out of money pretty fast if they did that.

[agamid]

They're an expensive commodity?

[ anyway he eats it. the vibes are... pleased! ]

Depends on what you consider expensive! They're not too pricey, but if you're careless, it adds up!

I suppose that is the case with anything. A pity, for medicine to come with a price.

[ Anise can be found in the mess hall! It looks like she was on her way to the galley, but she stops to greet Dion with a smile. ]

Hi, Dion! Have you eaten yet? I could make you something, if you like.

[agamid]

Mistress Anise, I haven't yet. But you needn't burden yourself. [ o: ] Do you often cook yourself?

[sexyasmieu]

"Mistress"? Wow, I haven't been called that before...

[ hehe. ]

I do! I'm really good at it, too. But it's kind of annoying to go to the trouble of making a whole meal just for yourself...

[agamid]

[ it is polite ]

... In that case, I would not refuse a meal from you.

[sexyasmieu]

Hehe. You've got it!

[ she'll open the way into the galley. ]

What kind of food do you like?

[agamid]

I do enjoy a roast pheasant, and gratin.

[ toddles after her ]

[sexyasmieu]

I don't know if they have pheasant here... Oh, but gratin might be doable!

[ takes out some potatoes and a knife and pushes them his way. ]

Here -- you can help with the potatoes.

[agamid]

Ah- certainly.

[ he has never peeled a potato in his life

in fact, he's not going to bother, he just starts... slicing them poorly ]

Are you the cook in your family?

Hey, it's gotta be thin slices! Thin and straight!

-- Um, yeah, I was for a while. When I was little, I worked in a tavern kitchen, so I learned some recipes there and used that to help out at home.

[ he nods. unfortunately, child labour is normal where he's from. ]

A useful survival skill, if nothing else. [ he's trying harder to slice... it's very slow. ] Admittedly, I have never... so much as heated a broth.

[ she was going to leave the potatoes to him so she could work on something else, but now she's watching to make sure he does it right... ]

Now that you mention it, I was wondering... Dion, are you a noble?
