I do enjoy a roast pheasant, and gratin.

I don't know if they have pheasant here... Oh, but gratin might be doable!

[ takes out some potatoes and a knife and pushes them his way. ]

Here -- you can help with the potatoes.

Ah- certainly.

[ he has never peeled a potato in his life

in fact, he's not going to bother, he just starts... slicing them poorly ]

Are you the cook in your family?

Hey, it's gotta be thin slices! Thin and straight!

-- Um, yeah, I was for a while. When I was little, I worked in a tavern kitchen, so I learned some recipes there and used that to help out at home.

A useful survival skill, if nothing else. [ he's trying harder to slice... it's very slow. ] Admittedly, I have never... so much as heated a broth.

I was a prince on Valisthea, though I spent most of my time among the military. I'll admit it has left me... lacking in certain skill sets.

[ well she was about to finally start her end of things but she's just stopped in place and staring. ]
