Because I don't believe in "an eye for an eye," and I don't think the answer to a crime is more murder. All that does is make things worse, and never gives someone a chance to do better.
I never said anything about forgiveness. That's something different. I just don't think it's fair for anyone to decide what someone else's fate should be.
