A revival takes twice as much mana as my most powerful spells, so it can be exhausting, compared to say, smiting something.
[ temenos can really just fire off holy light spells all day long ] But, I have worked for a long time to cultivate that skill, and I have the stamina to prove it. Where others in our cadre are warriors or fighters, I have honed my mana since I was a small child. There is certainly a cost, but for me, it may be lesser than someone who has not practiced as long - though, once I run out, I do need to sleep to restore my energy, so I suppose that could count.
[ but, he'd hardly be aelfric's chosen cleric if he didn't have a deep well ofmagic. temenos may not be able to swing a sword very well, but he is very, very, very strong as a cleric. ] My true capabilities have been locked behind the wall of this ship for some time, now - I look forward to utilizing them once more in the days ahead.
I see, this mana must be like the aether we have in Valisthea. It is the power source with which we are able to use magicks. But it is not something that exists within a person; we siphon it from the world around us and channel it through our bodies.
